The Iranian regime executed Reza Rasaei, a Kurdish political prisoner and a follower of the Yarsan religion, who was arrested during the Jîna (women life freedom) movement.

In the first six months of 2024, at least 266 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons. About 30% of the prisoners executed in Iran are Kurds. The Kurds in Iran make up only 14% of the population.

Although oppression is common in the Iranian regime, Iranian nations are not equal in the degree of oppression they are subjected to. The Kurdish people in general have been systematically victims of apartheid by the central government in Iran because of their Kurdishness and their decades-long struggle for their right to self-determination.

In 2015, during the trial of seven Kurdish political prisoners named Farhad Salimi, Anwar Khazri, Qasim Absta, Khasraw Bisharat, Kamran Sheikha and Ayub Karimi, who were arrested on charges of membership in Salafi groups “You are Kurds, Sunnis and Salafis. Each of these crimes carries the death penalty,” he said.

Being a Kurd is one of the criteria of the Iranian regime for executing, killing and exterminating the Kurdish people. In May 2024 alone, more than 25 Kurdish prisoners were executed by the Iranian regime, and in July 2024, at least 26 Kurdish peasants were killed by the Iranian regime's armed forces. The killing of these Kurdish prisoners and peasants is aimed at punishing the Kurdish people and narrowing the economic chain on the Kurdish people who have been systematically and systematically repressed in every way during the 45 years of the Islamic Republic's rule.

The issue of systematic apartheid of the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the crimes of the Iranian regime against the oppressed nations. The Iranian regime cannot be allowed to carry out ethnic cleansing of the Kurdish people without fear of punishment.
