The wave of arbitrary arrests by the security apparatus of the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to target medical professionals and healthcare workers. According to reports obtained by Jinamedia, four members of the medical community—including three Kurdish citizens—have been detained in the cities of Oshnavieh (Shno), Qorveh, and Sabzevar. Their current legal status and whereabouts remain unknown.

Detention of Kurdish Dentist in Oshnavieh

Dr. Rebin Moloudi, a Kurdish dentist originally from Sardasht and residing in Oshnavieh, was arrested by government forces on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Witnesses report that Dr. Moloudi was taken into custody in front of his private clinic at "Hospital Square" in Oshnavieh. Seventeen days have passed since his arrest, and there has been no information regarding his health status or place of detention.

Healthcare Workers Arrested in Qorveh for Providing Medical Aid

In a separate development, Musa Makhdoumi and Yousef Dehghani, both Kurdish citizens and staff members at a hospital in Qorveh, were arrested during recent popular protests in the city.

Reports indicate that their detention is directly linked to their "professional duties in providing humanitarian aid and medical treatment to injured protesters." To date, judicial and security authorities have refused to provide any transparency regarding the charges against them or their current location.

Enforced Disappearance of Dr. Ali Rahimi in Sabzevar

The crackdown on the medical community extended to Sabzevar, where Dr. Ali Rahimi, a local dentist, remains in a state of enforced disappearance. Dr. Rahimi was arrested last month following a raid by security forces on his private clinic during the January protests. Despite more than a month of persistent inquiries by his family, authorities have provided no information, leading to grave concerns regarding his safety and physical integrity.

Call for Accountability

As of the time of this report, the specific charges, the exact locations of detention, and the fate of these four individuals remain unknown.

Jinamedia highlights that targeting medical professionals for providing care is a violation of international humanitarian principles and calls on international rights bodies to demand their immediate and unconditional release.
