Two Kurdish citizens from Saqqez, identified as Mostafa Mesri and Hamed Nabati, have been arrested by intelligence forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an unknown location.

According to an informed source, the arrests took place on Monday, December 29, 2025 (8 Dey 1404), when intelligence agents detained Mostafa Mesri, a civil activist and member of the Saqqez mountaineering group, and Hamed Nabati, a local shopkeeper, at their workplaces without presenting a judicial warrant.

The source further stated that since their arrest, both individuals have been denied contact with their families and access to legal counsel. No official information has been released regarding their place of detention or the charges against them.

Arbitrary arrests and the denial of basic legal rights continue to raise serious concerns among human rights observers, particularly in East Kurdistan.
